Abstract
Uterine fibroids or leiomyomas are tumours of the uterine smooth muscle cells that occur in females of reproductive age at a very high frequency. These fibroids significantly reduce the chances as well the quality of pregnancy that the patient will bear. A diagnosis is performed using various imaging techniques and the management is decided on the basis of whether the patient would like to preserve their fertility or not. The treatment options range from hormonal to various invasive as well as non-invasive surgical procedures. Myomectomies have shown to improve the chances of successful IVF treatments when used for fibroid removal in these patients. We report a case of a patient whose multiple fibroids were removed using myomectomy, after which she underwent a successful IVF procedure.
