Abstract

The data pertaining to the corona virus disease (COVID-19) is rapidly evolving since its inception of the first confirmed case in December 2019. The symptom of pneumonia of unknown cause was first identified in Wuhan China and ever since it was declared as pandemic by WHO. On February 2020 WHO announced a name for this new corona virus disease: COVID-19. The disease is rapidly increasing with 47,093,222 confirmed cases globally by current date and 1.2 million deaths in 215 countries. Indian statistics confirms 8,411,724 cases and 1,25,029 deaths till date. It has affected the reproductive health of women in many ways. This review article presents a comprehensive analysis of the current data in relation to COVID-19 its effect on pregnant women, abortion rates, family planning services, maternal and perinatal mortality and assisted reproductive technology. This article will also reviews diagnostic tests and pharmacotherapy.
