Abstract

The incidence of cervical fibroid is 1–2% of all the leiomyomas. Anterior fibroid causes urinary retention and frequency. Posterior fibroid causes constipation. We report a rare case of a 35 year old women, 6th para who presented with urinary retention and admitted in Department of Urology and later transferred to Gynaecology department, Cervical fibroid was diagnosed. Uterus was sitting on top of fibroid and pushed upward with a typical appearance of St. Paul's lantern. This picture is present in central cervical fibroid. It was a posterior cervical fibroid which presented to us with symptoms of urinary retention which is normally found in anterior wall cervical fibroid.
