Abstract

Ovarian dermoid is a benign tumor of the ovary. It is usually removed safely with laparoscopy or laparotomy. Intra- operative spillage may occur which is usually not a problem if adequate peritoneal lavage is done. Rarely dermoid spillage may lead to chemical peritonitis and if active mother cyst wall is left, it may fistulize to adjacent organs, or, very rarely to abdominal wall.
